Densely, densely
            grasses grow on the plain,

Once in a year
            drying and thriving again.
Wild fires
            burn them but not erase;
Spring winds
            brings rebirth with the rains. 

Fragrance from far
            reaches the ancient road;
Emerald greenery
            wraps the abandoned wall;
Over again,
            the noble youth should go...

Lushly, lushly
            farewell feelings grow.

La despedida en la llanura antigua

Densa, densa,
             cubre llanuras la hierba,
Una vez al año
             se seca y de nuevo prospera.
Fuegos de verano
             la queman, pero no la eliminan;
Brisas de primavera
             regresan y la reaniman.

Fragancia desde lejos
             al camino antiguo vuela;
Verdor esmeralda
             al muro abandonado envuelve.
Otra vez, de nuevo,
             el noble joven se encamina...
Espesa, espesa,            
             brota la tristeza de despedida.
